If you're not already familiar with Meghan Markle, you will be very soon. The American actress, known for her role in Suits, is engaged to Prince Harry.
But what you might not know about Meghan Markle is that she has a true appreciation for food — she's a talented cook and pro at ordering the best options at restaurants. She doesn't shy away from sharing her best eats on Instagram, and we've never related to a soon-to-be royal more.
Meghan roasts a mean turkey, goes hard at brunch, doesn't skip dessert, and is no stranger to pasta nights at home. She even ran a lifestyle site called The Tig, where she wrote about food and travel, until earlier 2017.
She told Best Health that her love of cooking stems from years spent on set as a child.
"I grew up on the set of a TV show called 'Married with Children,' where my dad was the lighting director," she said. "Because of the content of the show, my dad would have me help in craft services, which is where they make all the food and nibbles — that's where I started to learn about garnishing and plating."
Much like Queen Elizabeth II, Markle enjoys her fair share of alcoholic beverages. Markle's drink of choice is a "big, beautiful red" wine. According to Delish, her favorite is Tignanello. She even named her now defunct blog The Tig after the drink. "But if it’s cocktails, I love a spicy tequila cocktail, Negroni, or good Scotch (neat)".
When she's not filming or has time off, she'll loosen the reigns on her diet and enjoy some of her favorite foods — including french fries.
"I'm always hoping I'm having lunch with people, so we can share fries," she told Delish. As for breakfast, she likes to have an omelet and toast. For dinner, she'll have something light like soup since she is more "peckish."
What catches her eye in every menu? "Squid Ink Pasta or Pappardelle with Cinghiale; I’ve never met a Wild Boar Ragu I didn’t like," says Markle.
