Marshmallow flowers open in your hot chocolate

 

Dominique Ansel, the man who invented the Cronut and made the world collectively freak out in a foodie frenzy, is never short of creations which prove his genius – chocolate cookie shot glasses, anyone? So it’s only natural that his latest dessert creation doesn’t disappoint, either. The whimsical invention is the Blooming Hot Chocolate, a marshmallow flower that blooms in front of you.

Specially served in his cafe in Tokyo, the vanilla marshmallow is placed in a cup of Varlhona dark hot chocolate, where it blooms to reveal a small chocolate truffle in the middle.
