The Uglier the Fruit, The Healthier For You

Turns out, fruit that has been damaged is actually healthier for you than the perfect fruit you've been buying in the store. We've grown up to believe that the prettier fruit will taste better and be better for you, but research actually shows the opposite.

Bruised or knobby fruits and vegetables have shown more nutrients, natural sugar and antioxidants than that of a 'perfect' fruit. The more damaged, the more nutrients have been released in the fruit (in an attempt to heal itself) so they have shown higher health benefits. Some research shows that the chemicals found in scabbed fruit might even prevent cancer!
